What Are Varicose Veins? Why A Vascular Surgeon?

We could not be more excited than we are to introduce the Delaware Valley to “VEINWAVE”. This modality has been in wide use in Europe for over 8 years, and by more than 1000 physicians, but is just now coming to the United States. At Advanced Vein and Vascular Center we are the second physician practice in Pennsylvania to add Veinwave to their practice. We are now a training facility as well for other physicians and are pleased with this new addition. What Veinwave is NOT is a laser. For treating fine veins, Veinwave is best on the fine spider veins so often prevalent in folks over 40. Veinwave is perfect for the baby-boomer generation as we all try to stay wrinkle free and avoid the most obvious signs of aging.

Excellent on Rosacea as well, Veinwave treats the face with much less pain than a laser, in fact with very little pain at all - and with immediate results. You can return to normal activity – even return to work- without bandages or heavy make-up to cover-up. Unlike a laser treatment, patients can resume time in the sun immediately, though we recommend 24-48 hours out of direct sunlight just to be cautious. Also differing from laser, Veinwave can be used on any kind and color of skin – even on tan skin!

You may have seen Veinwave featured on the BBC or on Fox News – as the first real innovation in decades for fine vein treatment, it is getting a lot of press. And it recently received FDA approval as of summer, 2009. Although the most striking and notable results are usually seen on the face, Veinwave also treats the fine thread veins on the arms, trunk, hands, and is an excellent adjunct to sclerotherapy to totally clean up after treatment of larger telangectasias. As Veinwave is a cosmetic application, there is no insurance coverage for it, but with excellent and durable results it can be an investment that is well worth the cost. How many of us look in the mirror and fret over increasing red and purple lines wandering across our noses and cheeks – no more! Try Veinwave – we think you’ll be very pleased. It can be that easy to say good-by to your unwanted veins!
