What Are Varicose Veins? Why A Vascular Surgeon?

Why a vascular surgeon

Vascular surgeons are trained to treat the circulatory system of the body. Whereas Cardiac surgeons treat the heart, or main pumping station of the body, vascular surgeons treat the roadways in which the blood travels – the vasculature of the human body. They are uniquely trained and qualified to perform procedures on both the arterial (blood coming from the heart) and venous (blood returning to the heart) systems.

Some vascular surgeons prefer to treat the arterial system, and refer their vein patients to other vascular surgeons. Dr. Carabasi has benefited from this, and is grateful to the many surgeons who have referred to him over the years, allowing him to build nearly an exclusive practice dedicated to the treatment of your veins.

One of the comments we hear regularly from our patients, is the reason they like Dr. Carabasi:  "He really seems to like what he's doing a lot"  And it's true - Dr. Carabasi doesn't see veins as just a necessary part of vascular surgery - he really enjoys making your legs feel good and look their best!
